CARNIVAL CELEBRATION

Adrenaline is the word that defines in the best way the meaning of the carnival celebration, which also means the cleaning of the house and the soul; what carnivals have in common is what we have said before, the cleaning. Why the cleaning?, simple, this carnival celebration represents the occasion in where everybody takes all the clothes away from the closet designing the most wonderful costumes and goes out with the purpose of dancing and playing water battles.
The carnival celebration is very popular today and has become a profitable business, but many years ago carnivals were just people celebrations, and in many countries this kind of festivity belonged to the poor social class. That’s why the costumes were not so expensive as they are now, since the citizens designed them with the old clothes they had that found in their closets.

Venice is a very beautiful city located in Italy and is very well known due to its carnival celebration: thousand of people travel along the channels wearing all kind of masks and costumes, building a magic atmosphere. This pagan event represents Venice in an unique way, and although it has started in the XI century, it seems to last forever; it’s true that this festivity has suffered modifications related to days and costumes, but till today its charm can’t be compared.
Venice has always been popular due to its carnival celebration, but this phenomenon has been growing and at present, we can find hundreds of hotels and restaurants which were built with the aim of pleasing tourists who come from all over the world to see this event.
This carnival celebration starts as it should: commemorating the “Marías Celebration”, here the San Pietro Di Castello group marches till San Marco Park, the following day the big opening is made and is there where the people participate: costumes, masks markets, street theaters and food take over the whole city.

Masks and costumes are the crucial part of this anonymous festivity, here all people are equal, and everything is allowed. The real joy is in the streets, people dance, march and celebrate this event in an organized and spontaneous way, and tourists get mixed with the citizens and take loads of pictures with different types of masks. During the nights the dances, costumes and masks take over the rooms of every single palace, we can attend to these parties by booking a ticket that is far from cheap. If we travel around the world searching for more carnivals we must stop by Brazil and Argentina, here carnivals celebrations are different from the European ones. In South America mortals have a date once a year, a date in where they have fun, drink alcohol and wear all type of clothes, a date in where the routine is broken and everything goes.

In Brazil as in Europe the magic of the carnival stays in the streets, these ones turn into chaotic places, full of noise and music, in those days we can chose to be: vampires, clowns or princes.
During the carnival celebrations in Brazil or Argentina all the senses are transformed, the fantasy becomes reality and the spiritual takes over the souls. Between February 24th  and 29th  Brazil will be embraced with colours, music and joy, by these dates Brazil changes, as its people: 10 days of holidays to celebrate their most important festivity, the carnival. In this country the carnival celebration is what represents this American land, here the samba’s school prepare theirs elves during the whole year to win the Carnival Championship and with it a huge amount of money. To give birth this event ever year the most powerful companies of the country invest money in different samba’s schools, with that money they can afford their costumes, masks and everything they need for heir march.
